No Fears! With the website down and hearing news of LAMB clothing no longer being available at saks or bloomies, thoughts were brewing of a possible end for LAMB as we know it. And well, in a way it sorta is.
Last night, I was fortunate enough to see No Doubt live in concert again. To make my evening is better, I was able to "meet and greet" the band backstage again too. After chatting with the boys, I interrupted my hubby who was talking to Gwen to ask her if I could ask her something about LAMB. She said sure and I asked away.
I told her that people weren't too sure about the future of LAMB because of the website being down and unresponsiveness from skagirl (the business company that handled LAMB's sales and distribution).
Gwen assured me all is going ahead as we'd all want. The big difference is that skagirl is out of the picture and LAMB is now using another company to handle their business. We can 100% look forward to LAMB in 2010!
I'm a nerd and I love statistics. A while back I added google analytics to my site to see what kind of traffic the site has... here are some stats from the last month:
Visits: 2015 by 683 unique people (or at least unique IPs) These people are from 38 different countries. Most visits (1600) were from the US, and most of the US visitors are from California The next highest is Canada at 191 visits. Other countries represented include (in order); Germany, UK, France, Netherlands, Mexico, Australia, Finland, Sweden, Poland, Argentina, etc. On average, people spend about 2 and a half minutes on the site. 100% of visits are direct traffic (using URL, not a link from another site)
Now that Gwen is on tour with No Doubt again, there is ND news coming at us regularly. Take a look at this widget for the most uptodate news on the group, including upcoming appearances, videos, contests and more!
The Giant Peach (http://www.thegiantpeach.com/) has provided us with images for upcoming shoes getting ready for release. Below check out the styles and see expected delivery dates.
Very cool. Overall, this line was of course more colorful than this season...it also had a light, comfortable vibe. Lots of flowy tops and dresses. There was a few standout pieces like the sequin circle cardigan- white (dove) silk/wool/cashmere with black sequins in an ornate pattern all over. Looked amazing. $425
There were 2 full large racks on display. The order sheets had about 120 items listed that will be released in 4 shipments (Jan, Feb, March, April). Each shipment is a different collection named and inspired by 4 regions of India.
January (AKA Jaipur) is the most subtly colored of the shipments. Lots of black/white items, grey too, and a little bit of blue. The sequin circle cardi is part of this collection. There is a beautiful "lolita" dress that is a mini black cotton dress with an adorable flare at the bottom. $225. To give an idea of the rest of collection key patterns include celestial print, and baby elephant. Many fade items (black/white), slim jeans, pencil skirt and patterned silk scarf $150
Prudy Top
Khadi Leather Jacket
February (AKA Darjeeling) moves onto very fall-like colors. Oranges, browns and creams. Lots of intricate patterns on dresses and tanks. There is a "patch cardigan" that is sure to be a big hit. It's silk/wool/cashmere-- a cream colored classic cardigan with about 6 patches on the front. $285. Key prints include safari and henna. 2 more printed scarves, rayon for $125.
Patch Cardigan
Taj Denim
Block Print Cami
March (AKA Madras) is a little more fun, getting away from the prints and moving onto solids and stripes. Dark blue and a really nice deep pink are used. This is my favorite of the shipments. It feels spring-like. Loose comfy short pants and soft tanks. I loved the scoop sindoor sweater. wool $195. It's 1/2 sleeves, grey/white stripes with pink/white stripe accent vertically down front and down the back. The candy flare skirt is pink/white striped with great piecing detail. $145.
Scoop Sindoor Sweater
Baby Elephant Hoodie
Pleated Double Halter
Denim Stripe Tank
Layered Bustier
Angel V-neck Tee
Music Tank
April (AKA Goa) is the most colorful. Bold bright patterns in electric pink, clementine and green. I loved the "multi color stripe" dress and bustier that feature the bold colors of this collection. they are linen/silk for $345 or $195.
Jamdani Hooded Dress
Splatter Hooded Dress
Sweet Stripe Dress
Diamond Stiched Cami

Gwen Stefani's L.A.M.B. label is adding high-end handbags to its roster.
The
four-year-old firm, whose accessories are produced in partnership with
Schifter + Partners, has launched a Black Label line called Aston,
hitting stores this fall.
The collection retails from $525 for a clutch to $1,495 for a limited
edition carryall and is inspired by vintage British sports cars. With
style names such as the Lotus and Winston, the Aston bags feature
special detailing such as layers of perforated and pebble-grain leather
mixed with patent leather piping and suede strips. Each of the eight
styles is equipped with black and gray striped lining, gunmetal
hardware and matte black hangtags.
Tim Schifter, chairman and
chief executive officer of Schifter + Partners, projects the collection
will generate approximately 10 percent of L.A.M.B.'s total handbag
sales in its first year. He describes the collection, as well as the
entire L.A.M.B. brand, as "irreverent luxury."
"Gwen designs
prints that push the envelope, and she does things that are so
differentiated from the rest of the market," Schifter said. "And the
crazier and more irreverent they are, the better they do. The bags
really resonate with consumers and retailers."
The Aston
collection will be available in limited distribution at the top 35 of
L.A.M.B.'s 250 doors, including certain Nordstrom and Bloomingdale's
locations as well as Intermix and Henri Bendel. The collection will
also establish L.A.M.B.'s presence internationally, premiering in such
stores as Tsum in Moscow, Lane Crawford in Hong Kong and Harvey Nichols
and Villa Moda in the Middle East. The bags will also sell on
eluxury.com as well as appear in the luxury catalogue Vivre.
"Having
an upscale collection allows us to differentiate our assortment of
various retailers," said Schifter, whose firm also produces accessories
for Jill Stuart, Harajuku Lovers and Kidrobot. "And we believe that
adding the Black Label collection as an upper tier is a very sensible
approach to fashion today. The retail conditions that exist always
demand high-end product that is not only sophisticated, but produced
and distributed in limited edition."
The Aston collection is priced approximately 30 percent above the
average L.A.M.B. handbag. For fall, Schifter also added a new line as
the brand's opening price point, the Soft Signature collection, which
retails from $295 to $395.
"I love the designing process for the
handbags," said Stefani. "It's always evolving and changing each
season. This season I loved mixing different materials like leather and
suede and then putting the L.A.M.B. twist on it....I look forward to
expanding the L.A.M.B. brand even more."

recently sent me to the "Preview of Fall 2008 Collections" at the
office of PR company Paul Wilmot Communications. When I arrived, I met
Ryan Pleva who immediately ushered me towards well-stocked clothing
racks. Ryan explained that the pieces on display represented the lines
that he helps promote (ADAM, Allegra Hicks, Sean John, Monique
Lhuillier, House of Dereon, Naeem Khan, to name a few) and that the
event was a convenient way for editors to look at the designers'
collections up-close, all at one time and in one space.
I’m a huge fan of Gwen Stefani's L.A.M.B. apparel solely because of the
comfy hoodies and cardigans (my Mom buys the cardigans and I "borrow"
them from her). Naturally, I was excited to see the latest sweatshirt
designs, such as this green plaid zip-up. The grey one looks like a
revamped version of the classic salt-and-pepper zip-up from American
Apparel.
This jacket from L.A.M.B. is made of lambskin leather with gold
punch-outs. I could never wear it, but I think it would be a great
addition to a funky magazine photo-spread next season.
It's that time of the year again, wish list time! Check out rack after rack of spring 08 items coming to a store near you shortly! It's about 80 items!
