talk is talk

Why is it that there is so much talking behind people's backs in lamb communities? Keeping resellers away aside,  there is just way too many lies, rumours, secrets and backstabbing going on with people who are supposed to care,  appreciate and help each other.

I speak to person A who tells me something about person B doing something bad to person C.  Person B trusted person A and cant understand why person A would say things like that about her.  And what does person C have to say about this? who is telling the truth?   Well it doesnt matter who is telling the truth because person A can just blame person D for everything.

I have been stuck in the middle of that situation a number of times just this week for god's sake.  I just want to be able to trust the people I am talking to.  I dont want to have to keep secrets.  I want to be, and continue to be upfront and honest. I TRY to get to the bottom of things and I am thankful to people who appreciate that about me.

As for the ones who make up exuberant lies about me and talk behind my back, just speak up, tell me to my face so i can make some progress on my attempt to weed out the ones like you.

oh. And i DO know there is a difference between making a mistake and deliberatly spreading lies. If you make a mistake, apologize and come clean.  That's all I ask for me and for others in the lamb world.  There doesnt have to be drama.  There doesnt have to be elitists groups.  There doesnt have be backstabbing and friendships destroyed.

I love having lamb communites to go to and I love having lamb friends to talk to about lamb. Dont let the bad take over.

AMEN!! This is what I have been saying. There seems to be a lot of this going on, and it did not used to be this way. Some girls/women think they are the be all and end all, and therefore should be in an exclusive group. WE ARE ALL THE SAME! or we WERE until a couple of backstabbers, ladderclimbers, and LIARS 'took over' the scene. Now it's all whispers, and bullshit. Where did my LAMB go???? Holla back girls!

Sadly, it's more than a 'couple of girls'; and the problem goes way back to personal vendettas; some people are so dysfunctional that they can't stand to see anyone purchase an item or post their own (valid) opinions about lamb without seeing it as a competative threat; then the nasties all come out. The twisting of truth and the outright spite that continues to go on, is just evil.
Personally, I wouldn't trade my true girlfriends for all the lamb in china; they know who they are, and they are true blue online and off

Wow, now, I'm only a part of the lamb_lovers community and BSL, and I don't know if people mean lamb_territory, cause obviously, that's suppose to be some secret lj place for 'special' members. I get it, a place to contribute informations so you get the goodies first, must be nice!

But I seriously haven't seen any backstabbing or drama in any posts in LL..... am I missing something? I don't open the posts that don't interest me, like people asking for pictures or information on the bags, but most of them I do look at, and yet I don't see anything :/

Ok, so I probably sound nosey but I just want to know how 'bad' it is since I've not witnessed it at all... I've only been a member since December, I think, and so far, I guess that's not been that long.....

Don't get me wrong, for the most part l-l and BSL are totally fine.
It's when you get into the more "elitists" groups where power struggles, backstabbing, lying, and extreme lies and gossip goes on.  Many times this doesnt even happen IN/ON the community, but behind the scenes.

I agree; for the most part LL/B/S/L are fine now - we did have an chronic problem with scammers on B/S/L but that got cleared up when the comm., became closed and people had to apply. One of the LL mods shared with me recently that LL has a ongoing problem when lambing is between season (one season is ending and the other hasn't started up yet); girls with nothing better to do, grow bored, and start up all kinds of spite and hateful drama for their own sport; they seem to take great delight in online bullying and abuse, and deliberatly start up arguments over...nothing. Personally, I think the best thing to do when something like that goes on, is to either ignore the comment (a lot of times the comment shows such a low level of intelligence is makes no common sense) and/or report the LJ user for a strike.
