Updates on The L.A.M.B. Collection Website
Many of you may have noticed that I have not been updating the website daily as I typically always have. Due to new computer set-ups for work and for home, I likely will only update in the evening when I previously do updates as needed throughout the day while working.

The site will be updated weekly, but it is more tough for me to find time in the evening to update, but dont worry, I am still here and keeping up with things. Please let me know if there are items I am missing. Please provide photos and information.

Thanks!
Amy

Items per season
As retailers continue to get new items this season, the question of "how many items do we get each season?" is asked.  Below is a talley of the items inthe clothing collections I have on the site.

Spring 04 - 73
Fall 04 - 79
Spring 05 - 84
Fall 06 - 96
Spring 06 - 96
Fall 06 - 132
Spring 07 - 127
Fall 07 - 117 (and still growing)

These numbers do not reflect actual collection size as I was likely unable to log each item.  With so many more online retailers, inclucing small boutiques, it is becoming easier and easier to get good information and photos of more items in the collection.

Henri Bendel Salutes 100 Years of the Brown-and-White Stripe

NEW YORK — Henri Bendel is celebrating 100 years of its signature stripe — in style, of course.

The store's brown-and-white stripe, which was introduced in 1907, is now instantly recognizable, and Bendel is celebrating its birthday in a big way. The store, owned by Limited Brands, has commissioned a selection of designers to create one-of-a-kind brown-and-white pieces to mark the milestone. Designs from Anna Sui, Alice + Olivia, Peter Som, Matthew Williamson, Josh Goot, Poltock and Walsh, Ghita, Pollini by Rifat Ozbeck, Elise Overland, Nili Lotan and Hamish Morrow, will be auctioned at the stripe's birthday party, The Brown & White Ball, at the Highline Ballroom here on Sept. 11.

"When Henri Bendel created the brown-and-white stripe in 1907, he was ahead of his time in regard to brand identity," said Ed Bucciarelli, president and chief executive officer of Henri Bendel. "In homage to Mr. Bendel's innovation, we invited some of our favorite designers to reinterpret our iconic stripe in both limited edition and one-of-a-kind product. They had carte blanche and the results are fun, feminine and fabulous, in short what every Bendel girl wants."

Proceeds from the auction will benefit Keep A Child Alive, an organization that provides care and treatment to children in Africa affected by AIDS. The organization was created by U2 front man Bono and Alicia Keys.

Other designers have created limited edition pieces that will be sold exclusively at Bendel beginning next week and running through the end of October. Among the items are: Diane von Furstenberg's cashmere wrap dress for $648, L.A.M.B's striped hoodie for $235, Phi's printed tank for $495, J Brand's skinny jeans with striped pocket and waistband lining for $188, Milly's strapless dress with striped lining and pink sash for $498 and Tibi's leopard minidress for $368. Even MAC Cosmetics is getting into the mix and has created a Lipglass called "Bendel Girl" and lipstick named "Love, Henri." These MAC items are packaged in signature brown-and-white striped boxes.

Gwen preparing for Spring 08 Fashion Show
ON THE L.A.M.B.

"I decided to go back to my roots, to when I discovered the ska bands from England—like Madness and the Specials—that made me what I am today," said Gwen Stefani as she showed Style.com looks from the Spring collection she'll present at the Tent in Bryant Park tomorrow night. In the mix are L.A.M.B.'s signature plaids and animal prints (the very leopard print she wears onstage), as well as graphic black-and-white checks that the celebrity-designer said are a "ska tradition." The runway soundtrack, no surprise, will feature some of her favorite old groups. But what about her next record? "I'm coming to the end of a chapter, doing my own dance records. In the fall, I'll record with No Doubt. I don't want to say for sure that it'll be ska, but that it is where we started." Before that, though, Stefani heads to Germany to kick off a five-week European tour, with the leather jacket she sports in this photo in tow. "It's mine," she said, "the second after the show."
