The Lamb Collection Site
news, info, thoughts, and more
almost there
I know no one reads this, but in case someone does...

The site is ALMOST ready to be posted again.
I have the clothing all kept up, and ive added sections for LeSportsac, man lamb, footwear and watches.
I have Mel (AKA lamblips) helping me out with a lux bag section and once that's complete, i will repost the site for all the lamb fans to use.

I am really excited about the new sections and making this site better for you all, and i am really excited about the new lamb site that is being created by a lambie down under. Her site will feature gwen showing off her lamb, celebs in lamb and information about all the stores out there selling the line. It will be a fun AND informative site. I will post more about it once the site is up.

friend's only
A lot of you have probably noticed that my collection site is back and  "friend's only".  This won't last long.  Here's the story...

For a range of reasons  I closed the site a few weeks ago. As much as some reasons were petty it was mainly because I was on vacation and finishing up my position at work.  My life was changing and I was about to start a new chapter.  Things have changed and I am actually staying at my job and things are not getting changed around as I expected.  If I had left my job, I would have been spending my time doing fun things that would be taking me away from my computer.  Basically, I wouldnt be spending 10 hours a day at the computer for work, which is when I would do my searching for LAMB things to use on my site.  But now I am stuck at the computer for another few months and can likely continue the site.

The "friends only" mask is up temporarily.  I have some helpful friends on my site and on the web catching me up with stuff I missed while on vacation and working to tie up ends at work.  I appreciate, and have saved the emails sent by dozens of you to have access to my site.  When the site is back up, I will let you know for sure.  I didn't make a site for my friends, I made it for the LAMB community and it would just be silly to work on something for so many hours and to only share it with a handful of people.  If I am going to have the site, it only makes sense to share it with everyone right?

So, please be patient with my friends and I as we get the site uptodate and work some flaws out.  If you are a lamb "expert" and want to scour my site for flaws/mistakes/errors/missing items/etc, please email me at amy@lambcollections.com --- PLEASE do not offer to do this unless you are prepared to do the work and not just using the access for your OWN good. This is for everyone.  I will only pick 1 or 2 additional people to keep down the flooding of multiple users sending multiple emails of changes. It's just easier for me to manage things this way.  I hope you understand.

I have only 1 more thing to say,

* EVERYONE will have access to this site.  I have no intentions on hiding the site from ANYONE.  *
If there is a fear of resellers and scammers using the site, PLEASE help me figure out a way to keep them out. I am open to suggestions.

The Sweet Escape Tour
My memories of The Sweet Escape Tour
-Amy Pepper-
www.lambcollections.com

Headed down to Chula Vista, CA last night for what is known as Gwen's "Friends and Family Show". We arrived about 30  minutes before doors and pulled into a spot right infront of the entry gates. Got our tickets from will call, restroom break, then into the ampitheatre we went.  No rush, no stress, just calm (not normal for me at a No Doubt/Gwen event).  The venue was 100% GA last night, so we picked whatever seat we wanted.  Front row center? yah, we took that.

There werent many people there (you wouldnt know by the cheers, applause and general energy coming from the crowd). We filled the area that would normall be the "pit" of the ampitheatre.  There were seats though, not that anyone was sitting once gwen took the stage!

We chatted with the various interesting people for about an hour when Gwen's tour manager, Ray, came on stage to welcome us and warn us that this was a "rehersal" and you never know what's going to happen.

Soon after, the show started out with "The Sweet Escape".  Listen for the sirens and look out for the Harajuku Police out in the audience!

I didnt write down the set list and i am very bad at remembering those sorts of things, but the set list was a good mix of this album and the previous.  Some songs i remember include (NOT in order):

the sweet escape - first song.  gwen in black and white striped jump suit, white long gloves, black tights and black ankle boots.  started out from the center stage in a gold jail cell. the dancers dressed in police uniforms (a la Jimmy Kimmel).  Gwen was in these tights for most of the show with various additions and subtractions and the show progressed. there was always lots of sparkle though. Some plaid.  Some peacoats, and even a soccer ref's uniform!

rich girl- similar outfit to sweet escape. put on crop sweater and belt, white gloves and cape

yummy- gwen puts silver apron on.  and a bakers hat. stage prop used was a treadmill during the chorus.  Gwen is on their with Gabe and the guitar player.

ok, this will take forever if i keep being this detailed....so here are some other songs...

danger zone, now that you got it, wind it up ,OC girl, early winter, 4 in the morning, florescent, dont get it twisted, you started it, hollaback girl, cool, luxurious...

the finale included real thing (now a duet), wonderful life and what you waiting for.

this tour was FULL of energy.  Some songs were "reggaed up", others were "rocked out" and some others got a new twist as well. Look forward to gwen dancing a lot and being so full of energy she has to jump off stage and RUN into the crowd.  She will be met out there with some of the band members where "Cool" is performed.

The main stage decorations included a giant gold G. It lights up and is lowered for a few of the songs.  There are also giant wind it up keys that also light up and get lowered for a few songs.  The stage is otherwise quite bare.  Nice and roomy for gwen and the dancers on the stage.  The back of the stage is lifted are the band is located there.  The band included Gail (singer/bassist from last tour), gabe and steve (from NDs tours), a guitat player, warran from the vandals... and damn me if i am forgetting someone.    Behind the band are a handful of screens that will give you some eye candy.  Many songs have mini videos playing during the performance... beautiful! ALSO- Pete ("pete can you go and get a test?") was taking photographs which will hopefully appear online if they havent already and Todd (gwen's brother) was filming it, with will hopefully also appear online in a verizon webisode.

I dont know what else to say, but this is a tour you MUST see.  If you havent bought your tickets yet, you really should. It's worth the money, it's worth the drive, it's worth whatever.

I took way too many photos...after deleting the ones i DONT like, i still  have over 500 on my camera.  I will post those on here when i return to Los Angeles (i am in vegas now for the next few days).  By then people will have posted their photos from the vegas show though.

BTW- Jill (gwen's little sister) had another baby yesterday at 5:30 am, so she couldnt make it to the show. Gwen was a proud aunt and was so happy to tell us about it.

options
option 1:  is to leave the site down. for good.
option 2: leave site down for now until i have time and renewed interest to keep it updated.
option 3: put the site up and just not update it anymore.
option 4: repost site and password protect it - this has been suggested to me by many. i know anyone could just get the password from someone else and everyone would get to use the site eventually. And even if a site like this was posted (passworded) does this answer any problems? Does it serve a real purpose to collect the info, show it to some, but not others?

some things
1) deleting this site is NOT just because of people who have disrespected me. it's a decision I've been back and forth on for a year or so.  a few times i didnt update for months at a time.  The site is not gone. i own the domain, i still have all the info and can be back up in a matter of seconds if i chose to dedicate my time to this once again.  the recent drama was just one of the final straws. But it's a time issue, it's a priority issue, and it's not a priority right now. simple as that.

2) there has been recent complaints of me stealing peoples photos.  I have ALWAYS asked to use the content on my website, unless it was on ebay or an online retailer. I often get emails from people just trying to help me who send me photos and info.  I only visit a couple communities regularly to collect info (l_t and l_l).  Unless info and photos have a watermark/email across them, or the person tells me their source, i have made the mistake of assuming it was their own.  This happened back in the "my world is stricken by no doubt" days too.  Once i was notified of any "stolen" content, i would immidiately remove it. So if there were photos of yours that you are accusing me of stealing, tell ME and i will take the appropriate course of action. Bitching about me to others won't do anything.

3) different opinions do not equal bitchy comments. they also do not represent ill feelings.  mis-reading something and accusing someone of something that is not true does not equal truth or reality.

4) my post on l-l was NOT to create drama. I posted it to let people know why things have disapeared. i expected and wanted peopel to reply HERE, not live journal.  I have edited my prior post and requested that.  People have done that and emails continue to roll in as well, with positive response.

done
ok guys. this is the end of the website.  I am posting this and letting you know the site has been deleted. The worthwhile content at least. Clearly to members of the lamb community, I am worthless, I am a bad person and I do not deserve any respect.

I am not going to spend hours a week collecting info and photos, and updating the website when I am just talked about behind my back and described as a bad person.  I am hurt needless to say, annoyed and disapointed.

Hopefully lamb-archive will pick things back up and you all have somewhere to go.

Amy

P.S. - there was a HUGE response to this on the lamb_lovers community on livejournal.com where i posted this news entry.  That post was deleted for "drama". if you do have responses you can post here or email me.

thanks for all the support thus far! I really appreciate the kindness that does exist in the lamb community.

Orange County Lamb Event - Friday, March 16th 2007

Gwen and L.A.M.B. in OC

Gwen Stefani was in town Friday night to make an appearance at Nordstrom at South Coast Plaza for an exclusive trunk show for her Fall '07 L.A.M.B. collection of clothing and handbags.

Alas, it was a private event and only 100 or so selected customers were invited to the event, in addition to a limited number of press. We were explicitly barred from taking pictures of her meeting with any fans but photographers were allowed to snap quick solo shots.

I did happen upon her hubby Gavin Rossdale (who was so hot I prayed that my knees wouldn't give out as I walked by him) but it was a smiling baby Kingston who totally stole my heart. Dad was gently guiding his happy but wobbly son to walk in the hallway. Too adorable.

Can't give away too much, as the story will run in Tuesday's paper but all in all, each reporter got to interview Gwen for a whole 7 to 8 minutes. The punk-pop princess appeared a lot more diminutive than expected. She has a tiny face and I felt like I got to shake an 8-year-old's hand. It was impossible not to stare at her and check out everything she was wearing and for an instant, I felt a smidgen of guilt for what has to be a weird thing, to have all eyes constantly on you at these kind of things. Of course she was immaculately put together: Perfectly sculpted updo with her signature red lips and she was in head-to-toe L.A.M.B.: A striped scoop neck sweater over a crisp white collared shirt with a skinny black tie and a bubble skirt. All from her latest collection, which customers were able to pre-order. The goods won't be arriving until summer.

It's not too late to get a glimpse of the fall collection, which has supple leather motorcycle jackets, swingy plaid shirt dresses with distressed collar detail and luxurious knits. Head to Nordstrom's Savvy Department from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday (3/17) for a trunk show (open to the public!) where you too, can pre-order items from the collection.

Yours truly couldn't resist from ordering a gorgeous chocolate satchel with subtle gold hardware that's around $650 and mi amiga bonita Jen placed an order for the chocolate convertible bag/oversized clutch for $550.

We are setting up separate L.A.M.B. funds as soon as we find two giant jars.

Article on "L", LAMB's perfume
Beauty Beat: Gwen Stefani Dives Into Fragrance
By Julie Naughton

NEW YORK — Coty Prestige took the phrase "making a splash" quite literally Monday afternoon during the unveiling of Gwen Stefani's first fragrance, called L.

Held poolside at Soho House, the event featured two Olympians doing water ballet and a charmingly modest — and frank — Stefani, clad head to toe in her L.A.M.B. line.

"This is the first time I've been away from Kingston [her 10-month-old son]," she said, surveying a room packed with beauty editors. Turning playful, she said, "I've been upstairs pumping like a mad cow! I hope they let me bring it on the plane!"

Later, during a one-on-one interview, Stefani made it clear that she's grateful for her success, both musically and otherwise. "It's sort of amazing to go from selling fragrances [as Stefani did before hitting it big in music] to having one of my own," she said. "I certainly never expected it when I was selling Borghese and Ultima II at the Broadway!"

Stefani's hit it big in more ways than one — of that, there's no doubt. Her four-year-old clothing line has surpassed $100 million in sales and, in addition to her upcoming fragrance and a best-selling handbag collection, she's hard at work designing watches and shoes. Eyewear, denim and innerwear will be added in 2008. It's possible that Stefani, a self-proclaimed makeup lover usually sporting her trademark red lips, might someday tackle the color cosmetics category — although it won't be anytime soon, she said. "I've got more than enough to do right now," she said, noting that she will begin touring early next month. She's also planning on filming an appearance for "American Idol" next week.

Stefani's fragrance, created with Firmenich, has top notes of sparkling green freshness, leafy water hyacinth, white freesia, fresh pear and violet leaves; a heart of jasmine petals, rose, lily of the valley, sweet pea and orange blossom, and a drydown of frangipani blossom, peach skin, heliotrope flower and sensual musk. "My mom had sweet peas in the yard growing up," said Stefani, who grew up in Anaheim, Calif., as one of four children. "I wanted this fragrance to be light, fresh and clean. I want people to say, 'I want to smell like that.' "

Why L? "It's the first letter in L.A.M.B., and it stands for love," said Stefani. And it will always be memorable to her for other reasons: "It's always going to remind me of this time in my life, of giving birth to my son and the [apparel] line and everything else. It's always going to be special to me."

That said, Stefani made it clear that she's not going to settle for just one scent. "I'm currently working on five fragrances," she said. "But this one is intended to be the classic."

The L collection comprises eaux de parfum in two sizes, 1.7 ounces for $55 and 3.4 ounces for $70, as well as a 6.7-oz. body lotion, $32; a 6.7-oz. shower gel, $30, and a 3-gram solid perfume compact, $42.

Stefani, in collaboration with Coty Prestige, created the bottle and the carton. The bottle's focal point is a large gold cap of interlocking Ls, which pulls off to reveal an interior of turquoise blue. Underneath the cap, the bottle is Rasta red, yellow and green with a turquoise actuator. The carton is a cheetah print with a black stripe and a stylized L. The inside of the box is striped in black and white, with the fragrance's tag line, "I want you all over me," printed inside. (The line is from Stefani's song "Crash.")

Dennis Keogh, senior vice president of U.S. marketing for Coty Prestige, noted that Nordstrom will have a six-week exclusive on the scent, beginning in July. The retailer, said to be the largest L.A.M.B. apparel account, plans to do pop-up store-in-store displays at launch. The remainder of the doors, about 2,000 department and specialty store doors, will begin selling L in September. While none of the executives would discuss sales or advertising spending, industry sources estimated that L would do about $30 million at retail in its first year on counter and estimated that about $15 million would be spent on advertising and promotion.

Both national print and TV advertising are planned for the scent, both — naturally — featuring Stefani.

The TV shoot, with video director Sophie Muller, was "hell on Earth," said Stefani cheerfully. But not because of Muller, who has shot nearly all of Stefani's videos: it was more the atmosphere, which involved being in a chilly swimming pool from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. sans stand-in. But she's happy with the result — a 30-second spot currently being assembled, which marks the first time Stefani's done a commercial. "We have enough great material for a three-minute commercial," said Stefani. She's equally pleased with the print campaign, shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. "It's always been a fantasy of mine to work with Mert and Marcus, and they surpassed my expectations," said Stefani. In fact, the shoot in Ibiza produced not just one, but a handful of images of Stefani and the fragrance, which will be rotated among the fashion, beauty and lifestyle magazines and will begin running the ads in September, said Catherine Walsh, senior vice president, American Fragrances for Coty Prestige.

"I'm kind of embarrassed by how much I enjoyed creating this fragrance," said Stefani with a laugh, calling it "a slow-cooking reduction of everything I've done so far."

"It's another way to say who I am," said Stefani. "I love this one so much I'm not sure what I'm going to come up with for the next one."

fall 07 preview
I went to a LAMB event at South Coast Plaza (orange county) today.  The focus of the event was a fall 07 trunk show.  Rack after rack of fall 07 samples were on display for pre-order! There were so many wonderful peices.  The collection seemed to have 2 feels. One was sophisticated and in grey/black tones, the other was cute, playful and fun in bright colors like red and navy.  Gwen did not forget her plaid this time around, the interlocking L logo was reused and re designed in a great new logo.  Something that looks like first season's penmanship is even coming back!

There is a lot to look forward to! Below are images of the new tag, and a couple graphics (L's graphic/logo and the modern old english all over print)

enjoy!
